Red Thunder Soccer Club

Background

[This is the “old” Forza United FC soccer club.]

Having its roots go back to 2008, the Red Thunder Boys U13 soccer team is the first boys program in the Red Thunder Soccer Club; apparently this is the only team…though there is a Red Thunder Boys 97/98 soccer team (see below). Reading, Mass is their home town.

This young team/club has progressed nicely over the few years they’ve been in existence and have improved their record each season. They think they can attract and develop young soccer players in the Reading area and continue to participate in premier-level soccer.

Red Thunder has an intense training curriculum which focuses on developing each player’s technical skills; at the same time the kids gain a tactical understanding of the game. Red Thunder consider themselves a great option ($915) to the much higher priced soccer clubs in the area.

The Red Thunder Soccer Club competes in the Northeast Soccer League (NSL).

The site stresses that they have lots of fun and play lots of soccer and have developed an atmosphere where the kids can enjoy learning, practicing, executing, and playing at a high level. As you learn about the club you need to remind yourself – this is a one-team (two-team?) soccer club.

Another Red Thunder?

There is also a The Red Thunder Boys 97/98 soccer team that also competes NSL; based in Reading, just another age grouped team. This team was formed in 2011; they started in NSL Under 14 Boys 3rd Division in the Fall of 2011, and moved up to NSL Under 14 Boys 2nd Division for the Spring 2012 season. For the Spring 2013 season, it will compete in NSL Under 15 Boys 2nd Division. Sound confusing? Please go to the The Red Thunder Boys 97/98 website for more information.

Website

  • Good site overall providing the basics of what you need to know about the team and club.
  • Easy to navigate; provide good information on the Red Thunder philosophy.
  • Good coaches bios.

    Hi,
My son currently plays for the Andover Travel team, U12 team. This fall he will be U13. I noticed your site said that you have one team which is a U13. Do you have tryouts coming up soon? My son plays goalie.
Is there a practice this season that he could attend to get a sense of the team and the coaches and for you to meet him as well?

    Thanks,
    Micheline
