  1. My daughter played a full year with this club and loved Coach Malinda and coach Naomi. They pushed her because they believed in her. They made her a better player, team mate and person because she finally believed in herself. I have never met such passionate loving coaches who loved every player and pushed every player to their limit. They found the soccer player in every girl. It is not about a team having no skill and doesn’t belong out there, because that is what they are developing. They took anyone that had passion for the game of soccer and deserved to play and made them believe in themselves. She took a losing team, taught them the skills and to work together to place in second! My daughter is devastated there isn’t a team for her with this club all because certain people weren’t happy so instead of walking away and finding another club because let’s face it not every team is a perfect fit, they dragged her name through the mud. It is sad that some people can say such nasty things about another person whose intentions were all for our children and their love for the game. Thanks to those people for crushing my daughters dreams and causing her tears just because you weren’t happy your daughter didn’t get a lot of playing time. Club level you earn that time, every one joining club level play knows that!!

  2. I love every thing about pasta, from the name to the coaches to the players. This season has been the season I’ve been so close to my team mates. Even if we lost a few games or won a lot we always has each other’s back and and also we love are coaches and there family’s. It was a great experience and I’d love coming back every year until I’m 60 if I could.

My son started playing for Pasta Three years ago. He was in two other clubs briefly prior to PASTA . This club and more specific Coach Melinda and Coach Nayomi had taught him everything he knows about soccer. He improved tremendously !!! No one before had given him this much guidance and reassurance and they never gave up on him!!! He loves soccer and he loves the club. The Coaches are extremely passionate about their work and great with kids!!! I will recommend this club to anyone who wants their child to become a professional soccer player because that’s how good this club is !!! I know my son will be!!!

  4. As a player i can tell you that PASTA is one of the best clubs i been to the Coaches care about their player ive seen so many comments about how bad the coaches are and it blows my mind because since i started playing PASTA the Ciaches havent showed nothing but LOVE they care about you not only on the field but off the field i never heard , seen , them putting someone down you parents might be thinking that they are from the side lines but their not all they do is encourage them to play better as a player i recommeend this club to player that want to work hard and become noticed

My daughter entered PASTA in August of 2015. She went to their camp, made the team, went on to learn more, went to EVERY PRACTICE WITH HER TEAM, ate dirt, got back up, learned to use her scrawny butt, increased her goals, elevated her foot skills, built her endurance, voted by her peers as one of the Captains, build comradely within a first time team, played & excelled at indoor Futsal for the first time, took command on the field with compassion, strived to play her best every single game, played all fall & spring with 1 sub, played tournaments, all while playing higher up in the U14 bracket, she and her entire team ended up landing on their feet, standing tall, 110% more seasoned and in 2nd place for the entire Maple Soccer League Girls U14.
My daughter loved every minute of every practice, game, endurance training, idealistics and game-play training that came from her Coaches Malinda & Naomi.
These coaches saved my daughter and others from a previous “volunteer” (who hit 3 different clubs in one year because she wasn’t happy with any of them) who wanted to give us back our money and send our kids on their way. Too each their own I always say. Naomi said “no way – they have passion. We can make them better”.
Malinda and Naomi made them more improved by leaps and bounds!
We watched them play on a pick-up winter indoor team (coached by a great parent over the winter) and we couldn’t believe the footwork and comradely on the turf! We all said “THAT”s the Malinda in them!!!!”
She got to 2nd place on a U14 team at the age of 12 and being on the tiny size:
She got there because of Malinda and Naomi.
She got there because of the team mates she just grew with on this team.
She got there on positive feedback and nurturing (sometimes tough love – that’s life folks) & mentoring from two of the most passionate soccer loving, caring people I’ve met to date in my daughters 9 years of playing this awesome sport.
    She got THERE..
I highly advise any parent that has the opportunity to have their child – that loves the sport of soccer – to sign up for the best experience development wise and memory wise.
A thousand thumbs up to them, a thousand.

  6. From my experience Pasta is a great club that develops players. My son who has been with Pasta for more then a couple of years can say the same. The coaches care about the players, not only on but off the field. Some patents may not like the fact that the club caters to the kids instead of the parents. I was also taken bak by it, but with time I realized what was important my child development and happiness. Are there issues of course every club has them, and most clubs you will not find the coa hes available as much as the Pasta coaches are.
Pasta is a club that also dose a lot for inner city kids and for me that is an added bouns to me sons development. Yes the coaches as was said screem, but if parents listen they would hear positive things being said. If a coach say number 8 is the best player then thery ate doing their jobs to alert their player to mark the player. I like the fact that they scout the other teams and pick up on their strengths and weaknesses. Now this is something my kid is doing when he plays or watch the game. Its sad to see all of the negative things that are being said, when Im sure it is coming from disgruntled parents.
Keep up the good work PASTA, and thank you!!!!!!

  7. I am currently a member of Pasta, and reading the previous comments blows my mind. I never saw or heard any of the coaches berate or talk down to any of the players, what they would do is cheer them on and encourage them, even giving them hi fives and hugs as the kids played.
My daughter joined Pasta, and by the 6th month she was motivated to work on her skills, anf excited aboit going to practices. The training, the commitment, was great. Yes the girls were made to work hard but by the end of the season the girls went from loosing to rocking ot out and placing 2nd. Mind you our girls were younger then the age group they played in.
I don’t know what other experiences were but from what I saw the girls loved their coaches and the coaches loved the girls.
Were there issues yes, as with any Club team were a parent feels there child should play more, and stated miss behaving and carring on about it. [DELETED SENTENCE] From one of the previous statements about being bullied, I would say disgruntled due to being kicked out.
My daughter will continue to play with Pasta because as a family we love it.

My 13 year old child currently plays for PASTA. The coach has been a complete bully, screaming at parents, players, refs, other coaches and anyone who dares to disagree with her. She oftentimes doesn’t play some players for more than 5 or 10 minutes in a 70 minute game.

I recently became aware of what occurred at a practice about 3 weeks ago. Coach Malinda Williams (PASTA club owner) decided it would be good team bonding to play Circle of Truth instead of actually playing soccer. She had both the 13-year old boys and girls teams together and would toss a ball to a player. When the player caught the ball, the player was required to answer a question that Malinda asked. Questions she asked included:
    – “Tell me something you did that you would never tell your parents.”
    – “Which of the boys in front of you do you think are cute?”
    – “If Johnny asked you to be his girlfriend, would you say yes?”

How sick is that?! Just par for the course for this club. Malinda is extremely argumentative and is very frequently screaming at someone, often with obscenities, telling them how worthless they are.

Be warned. Stay very far away from this club. I wish someone more professional would start a club closer to Norfolk. The only upside to this club is that it’s close and cheap. Clearly a case of “you get what you pay for”. Don’t subject your child to the cesspool of a club.

    1. My daughter plays with Pasta and loves Malinda, I have never heard Malinda use inappropriate language around the kids nor has it been reported to me. [DELETED SENTENCE] Ok everyone wants playing time but it is earned, but a male adult attacking a 9month old pregnant lady is not the way to get it. However I do know his family was not asked to return and this is the action he is taking. [DELETED SENTENCE] Myself and the other parents were disgusted and felt bad for her. It said when parents start doing things like this because they didn’t get their way.

    2. screw the coaches they are horrible at their job

  9. John Sampson says:

    COMPLETE DISASTER
My son has played against this team. The coaches rant, rave and swear at everyone – their players, the other players, the opposing coaches, the refs. Seems very classless organization. I would stay away at all costs. Speaking with other parents, I’ve heard their teams get into frequent on field fights. Go see a game or two for yourself before considering joining.

I do not encourage anyone at all to join this club they will only bring you down and if you are not a favorite you will not play. If there was an option to rate this team negativity for anything I would. IF YOU HAVE ESCAPED FROM THE CLUTCHES OF THIS CLUB DO NOT RETURN IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. TAKE THIS AS A WARNING

I just versed this team last night and their players show no chemistry and no joy for the game. We were beating them 5-1 with 5 minutes left and 2 of their strikers just left the game without saying bye to the team. It just shows you how weak their team can be attitude wise, I don’t suggest joining this club, have your kid join a more noticeable and easy going premier team.

PASTA is an amazing program that I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn to be the best soccer player that they can be.

  11. We have played against the team a few times and the coach lacks sportsmanship. The club is known for playing kids outside the age bracket. The players are aggressive, but are talented. I feel if they played for a different club they might strive more.

    1. This is a good club that cares about it’s players, They been over backwards to develop their players. They take players that other teams/ clubs have lable as being not good and make them good . They push player to be better and everything they yell to their players is postive.

      you all are sad

    2. lanyama williams says:

Random, I bet your team was beaten. T hus this is sour grapes.

  12. Where do the coaches for this club come from? This club is playing indoor soccer at he same place my daughters club plays And our parents had to complain to the facility manager that the coach for this pasta team was actually calling out our players by numbers and vocalizing there weaknesses such as number 2 just kicks the ball. . All of there players just tried to bounce against our players and then would become sassy with the referree. I’m don’t know what type of coaching strategy that is. It’s no wonder this team had no clue how to perform. Our parents felt badly for the kids on that team. I sent them an email letting them know how we felt and our team requested that we do not play against this club again. Very unprofessional. We are based in ri and never heard of them before that. U.S. Kids soccer association should look into the coaches.

  13. I don’t know where these coaches come from.. All they do is scream at the children and make them nervous. I was a sideline parent for the opposing team and the screaming was making our kids nervous. Players have absolutely no skill. All they know how to do is run around and create confusion. I went home and looked this club up. All teams are competing in very low brackets and being beaten badly. This club must find players whom other clubs would not accept because the lack of skill is so noticeable it is almost hard to witness. Kids running in circles and just kicking the ball out of bounds. I hope families are not paying a fee for this club. We played against them and had to stop our kids from scoring at half time. Even our kids were shaken by the low level of playing by opponent and the loud yelling by the coaches.

I currently player for pastas and me reading these previous comments show me that anything you do in this world, you are always going to have someone that criticize you. I get it and I don’t care about what others say, am so proud to say that I am a pasta player and I can say that playing for pasta has been the best experience of my life.

Pasta’s has two female coaches Naomi and Malinda. They are the best coaches I ever work with, even though I play like four others sport but they are the best. I say that because for them pasta is not only about playing soccer, it is more then that. It is about helping kids from all walks of life. Not just the ones that have money to pay. They give scholarships to anyone who express they need it, no questions asked.

They go to our schools, because some of our parents don’t speak English. Malinda opens her house to us, and they treat us like we are their own. Anything we need and they go above an beyond to get it for us. The encourage us to get good grades and stay out trouble or else we cant play on the team. We are free to express ourselves to them with out being judged. We can call them at anytime and they will answers in a second.
Malinda and Naomi have change my life by pushing me to work harder on the field and in school. Since I started playing for pasta all my grade have up to A or B+ because they ask us all the time how we are doing. What soccer coach do you know that asks their players what they want to be when they grow up. What coach period.

I am so thankful to Naomi and Malinda for being there for us player and for treating us like their own. I will always be grateful for that and I love both of them so much and my family loves them too

  14. I wish this club were better. We live almost next door and considered joining. We watched two home games before making our decision. There were a small handful of kids that had natural skill while the rest of them should have stuck with their town programs. No passing. no movement. A lot of passing to no one. (aside from the few skilled players who are heavily outnumbered) I cant imagine those with skills will stick around long as I am sure the location of this club was the temptation to join. Watch a game before joining, I am glad we did

    1. Unless your child is playing for an Elite team or the US National youth team, she is still learning and putting down other players who are trying to learn, is sad. Club teams are there to develolpment players. Which means make them better, This what this club does. They take player who have low skill and make them better.

I am sure there are players out there who are way better them your child skill wise, but their parents have the decency not to boardcast it.

  15. I am currently a player for PASTA. We receive a lot of scrutiny about our name, but truth is this is a hard working developing club with great coaches. This is the most hat working and determined club I’ve been on and it does not only strive towards athletic ability, but academic and social abilities. I recommend this club to players who want to work hard and become noticed as a player. They do not have established facilities.

    1. Does anyone know what the website is for this club I can not find it
